Siemens M Series - Single Low Energy and Dual Mid Energy Linear Accelerators
The Siemens Low and Mid energy Linear Accelerators are very compact units containing the Magnetron modulator in the gantry stand. They are available as single energy units with (and without ) electrons, or as dual energy units offering a high photon energy up to 15 MV. Older models were supplied with analog control systems, with later units equipped with Siemens digital control system and computerized user interface. MXE-2 and MD-2 models have digital control systems and can be upgraded with software and hardware to equal the treatment features offered by the Primus model, such as Dual Independent Jaws, and Virtual Wedge, even EPID. Our digital M series models are always available with optional MLC replacing the lower primary jaws which offers the benefits of MLC without reducing patient clearance as with tertiary collimators. Siemens offers its MLC and software upgrades exclusively to OSI in the refurbishment market.
