Siemens KD Series - Dual Energy Linear Accelerator
The Siemens KD series is a high energy treatment machine with a Klystron modulator offering high dose rates at elevated energies. Older units were supplied with an analog control system, and later versions with Siemens digital control system and computerized user interface. Digital units designated KD-2 can be upgraded with software and hardware to equal the treatment features offered by the Primus model, such as Dual Independent Jaws, and Virtual Wedge, even EPID. Our KD-2 models are always available with optional MLC replacing the lower primary jaws which offers the benefits of MLC without reducing patient clearance as with tertiary collimators. Siemens offers its MLC and software upgrades exclusively to OSI in the refurbishment market.
