OSI Professional Factory Refurbishment.
When you acquire an OSI refurbished linear accelerator, you are receiving a piece of equipment which has been comprehensively overhauled and rebuilt to meet or exceed the original manufacturer's specification, in our FDA registered facilities. Our engineers have great experience with the failure modes of Linear Accelerators, and we have designed our refurbishment packages to give assurance that performance and reliability of your machine will compare favorably with a new unit from the OEM, whilst ensuring we can still offer the value sought in a pre-owned equipment solution. Exact refurbishment schedules vary by make and model of unit, however the following list shows a typical refurbishment. OSI is the ONLY third party refurbishment company in the world which has invested in a dedicated radiation test cell for full beam testing prior to installation.

Exact refurbishment schedules vary, however the following shows the typical process:

1. Full Systems Testing to OEM Acceptance Requirements and replacement of all necessary parts, such as
2. Rebuilt Magnetron
3. New Thyratron
4. New Bending Magnet Coils
5. All water lines replaced
6. Bearings in primary collimator replaced and collimator slides tested
7. Mechanical and electrical checkout and testing of Jaws
8. Modulator tested and all high voltage components checked and replaced if necessary
9. Control Console tested and cleaned
10. Structure cleaned and checked
11. All machine wiring checked and replaced if necessary
12. Thorough solvent cleaning of all gantry and structure
13. Refinished wood and Plexiglas inserts installed on patient couch
14. Patient couch bearings checked for excessive wear and replaced if necessary
15. Thorough solvent cleaning of patient couch
16. All covers painted with textured paint used by OEM
