Isn't the manufacturer of my equipment the only one qualified to maintain it?
Absolutely not! OSI linear accelerator engineers have been factory trained and follow all the recommended preventative maintenance schedules published by the manufacturers. In fact our engineers often have more experience than many factory personnel, even on many new technologies.
How can OSI be so much more economical than the OEM, if they are providing the same quality of service and parts?
Original Equipment Manufacturers or OEM's are large organizations with large overheads which are often arbitrarily allocated to parts and services. Also quite frankly, many OEMs figure they will make high profits on service because many customers do not question the cost. OSI on the other hand has a very flat organization structure and we price to stay in business as your long term partner. We also source many of our replacement parts from the first and second tier suppliers to the OEM at much more realistic prices which we can pass on to our customers.
If I buy a used Linear Accelerator, won't I be buying something that is worn-out?
If you buy a refurbished pre-owned linear accelerator from OSI you will receive a unit that not only looks like it just left the factory, but it will be similar in reliability to a new unit because the OSI refurbishment process is designed to replace and renew those items which give problems as they age. In fact the lifetime ahead of our units will be about as long as a new unit until that needs refurbishing too! Of course we also provide full parts and labor warranty's which are backed by our own nationwide service team, so we won't walk away when you buy from us.
If I want my clinic to be able to do all the latest modalities, don't I have to buy new?
Many OSI refurbished linear accelerators can be upgraded to the latest software revisions and hardware accessories, just like the new units leaving the factory today. OSI has agreements with many fine vendors of the latest technologies, such as Siemens to be able to upgrade units and add items such as Multileaf Collimators and EPID to allow they identical capabilities to new machines, but at a serious discounted price!
How did a Broker offer me a unit at a better price than OSI quoted me?
Unless you purchase from a reputable company, buying pre-owned equipment is fraught with difficulties. First among these is really knowing the condition and reliability of what you are purchasing. Remember that an As-Is brokered unit will not be professionally refurbished and will be unlikely to have such major items such as waveguides, and modulators rebuilt. Also be sure that you are comparing like for like, and that there are no hidden costs, such as removal and re-installation, and is a warranty backed by a reputable service organization included? OSI pricing is rarely bettered when a true comparison is made.
